Governance

Governance is at the unglamourous end of Rugby Club management but Clubs simply could not exist without it. Good governance is the key to running a sustainable club and below are some areas that clubs should review. It is also worth taking a look at the Club Management section of the RFU's Community Rugby website.

Community Amateur Sports Clubs (CASCs) enjoy quasi-charitable status benefitting from mandatory rate relief as well as other potentially valuable tax benefits. Nearly every club qualifies for CASC status and in nearly every case it will be of financial benefit. To find out more Click Here to go to the CASC page on the RFU's Community Rugby website or visit the cascinfo.co.uk site specifically designed to help clubs get the most out of CASC status.
