Bolton Gets the Nod
Mark Bolton appointed ECRU Senior Coach |

Mark Bolton has been appointed to the position of Eastern Counties Senior Coach, the Eastern Counties Rugby Union (ECRU) announced today.
The unanimous decision was made by the ECRU Elite Rugby Board today following an interview with Mr Bolton.
In making the announcement, ECRU Chairman Bob Cranna said "Mark Bolton was the best possible candidate for the job of Eastern Counties Senior Coach".
“I want to congratulate him on his appointment. He is an outstanding coach and has been a key part of a successful ECRU U20 team since becoming their Head Coach this year. He has huge respect and backing from the u20 team and his peers and is the right man to now lead the senior team.”
Mr Cranna said having one of the current coaches involved in leading the development of rugby within ECRU was a huge advantage and allowed for a seamless transition from the younger age groups into senior representitive rugby.
Mr Cranna said Mr Bolton had also presented his preferred coaching team to the ECRU Elite Board and this had also been unanimously approved. ECRU Elite Management will now work through the development process with each individual, and the rest of the coaching team will be announced as soon as possible.
Mark Bolton said he was both excited and honoured to be chosen as the new Senior Coach.
“I have huge pride in Eastern Counties rugby and I’m passionate about developing young players and raising the profile of the senior team through blooding young players along the same lines as the current England coach.
“I feel humbled and proud to be given the opportunity to lead the team into the county championship. My aim will be to leave the team in a better shape than how I found it and to enhance its legacy,” he said.
I intend to work with all the club coaches within ECRU to offer players the opportuinity to represent England Counties
